Events Prove Knights' Prediction Correct
Since forming in September the Knights of St Edmund have been: threatened with execution by a local Councillor, derided as 'beneath contempt', subjected to virulent sectarian bigotry and targeted in an onslaught of unprecedented anti-Christian hatred by St Edmundsbury Borough Council, its councillors, officials and contractors. The abuse of the Knights of St Edmund goes to prove how much the Borough Council hate traditionalist Christians holding prayer meetings, as well as demonstrating that we are being effective in exposing and bringing to the attention of the people of Bury St Edmunds what is taking place in their name and with their money.
From the start the Knights of St Edmund have warned the people of Bury St Edmunds about the secretive planning process, operated by unelected officials without proper oversight by democratically elected councillors, first by St Edmundsbury Council and now, apparently, Suffolk County Council.
Further proof of the correctness of the Knights' analysis is evidenced by the proposed closure and redevelopment of the Manor House Museum, Public Records office, Shire Offices and Court. This plan required the active collusion of: the Borough Council, Suffolk County Council, GovEast, and John Prescott's Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. It is proof that there is a secret conspiracy to destroy the ancient and sacred town of Bury St Edmunds.
The Knights have learnt that estate agents and decorators had even been around the buildings before any public announcement was made. Furthermore, there has been no public consultation about this proposal and no official statement as to where the Court, Records Office or Museum will be relocated too. As a result the Borough and County Council are now treating all the people of Bury St Edmunds as 'beneath contempt'.
The Knights of St Edmund believe the announcement has been partly timed to distract public attention from the savaging the Borough of St Edmundsbury is suffering over the Cattle-Market development. This is a standard trick, frequently used by politicians, to divert attention from the important issues.
The Knights would like to remind the people of Bury St Edmunds of the advantages of fighting one battle at a time and taking a strategic overview of events. It is clear that to be effective protests must be applied further up the political food chain, to those political and private interests which are effectively influencing and manipulating St Edmundsbury Borough Council. Moreover, the people of Bury St Edmunds must be aware of the divisive traps that may be deliberately laid by politicians and other apologists. To paraphrase Sir Francis Drake "We have enough time to beat the Borough Council and defeat the County Council".
